AC to DC Power Supply

As mentioned in my "Review" of the Garmin GPSMAP 295, it loves energy and eats 6 "AA" batteries every 5-6 hours on the average.  Our customers called and requested a power supply that they could plug into the home wall plug and learn to operate their new GPS.  We looked high and low but couldn't find anything like this from the GPS manufacturers, so I had my boys build up a power supply.

Simply plug the power supply into 60Hz house current, plug and plug the GPS cigar lighter adapter into the power supply and now you take your time and learn all the  nice features of the GPSMAP 295 without feeding it batteries all the time.  Now you can just set the GPS to "Simulated" and play until your heart's content. 

This power supply will work with Garmin or AirMap and many other 12Vdc 1,700 mA or less devices that has a cigar lighter adapter on the end of the cord. This power supply is a tool you can use on many different pieces of avionics equipment.
