Welcome
To Avionics West of Tennessee
.....Putting Our Customer's First
GPS Training Manuals
As many of you know, Avionics West of Tennessee host two-day training classes on
the GNS 430 and GNS 530 here in our shop. Each table has a working
GNS 430 or 530 in front of the students and they receive a lot of hands
on experience. The problem is many of you just can't take the time
to attend our two-day class for some reason or another. I
ran across training manuals for the below products and after reviewing
the content found these basic training manuals an excellent tool not
only for the beginner but for the GPS owner who may not utilize all the
nice features their GPS contains. I've been teaching GPS classes for
years and found these manuals easy to read and well written. If
you can't attend one of our classes, then I'd highly recommend
purchasing one of these fine training ZD Publishing, Inc. (Chelton
Manual by Keith Thomassen) training
manuals. Why not all the nice features your panel
mounted GPS contains? For more information click the panel mounted GPS
you are interested in.
"GNS
430, How to Operate it"
Although the manual that comes with the unit explains
quite well what the unit is capable of doing, our guide concentrates on
how to do each specific task. While
the GNS 430 is an extremely capable unit I felt its learning curve was too
steep. Out of necessity I began learning the EASIEST way to accomplish any
task. All of the basic navigation tasks, from Direct-To Operations to
Emergency Returns are covered. This
document contains not only the basic operations but also describes all the
pages and what they are used for. The table of contents, combined with the
task-oriented format, make this manual an invaluable, easy to use,
reference for the user. Whether you are an experienced user or a novice at
GPS operations this manual has something for you.

"KLN
89B / KLN 94 How to Operate It"
Although the manual that comes with each unit explains
quite well what the units are capable of doing, our guide concentrates

While
the GPS's are extremely capable units, I felt the learning curve was too
steep. So out of necessity, I began learning the EASIEST way to accomplish
any task. All of the basic navigation tasks, from Direct-To Operations to
DME Arcs are covered. This 50-page document contains not only the basic
operations, but also describes all the pages and what they are used for.
The table of contents, combined with the task-oriented format, make this
manual an invaluable, easy to use, reference for the user. Whether you are
an experienced user or a novice at GPS operations, this manual has
something for you. In my opinion the KLN89B/94 are somewhat difficult to
operate, thus I'd highly recommend that you keep one of these ZD
Publishing, Inc. training manuals in the cockpit and study it often.
