Vertical Navigation
To create a vertical
navigation profile:
1. PRESS
to obtain the Vertical Navigation page.
2. PRESS the Small Knob to activate the cursor. The Target Altitude
value is highlighted.
3. ROTATE the Small Knob to enter the desired value in the first digit.
4. ROTATE the Large Knob to move the cursor to the next digit.
5. Continue using the
Small and Large Knobs to dial in the Target Altitude.
6. PRESS . The
cursor moves to the right half of the Target Altitude Field.
7. ROTATE the Small Knob one click to open a dialog box that allows you
to select "Above WPT" or "MSL" with Small
Knob. With desired selection highlighted:
8. PRESS . The
cursor moves to the left half of the Target Position Field.
9. Using the Small and Large Knobs, enter desired distance from the
waypoint.
10. PRESS . The
cursor moves to the center of the Target Position Field.
11. ROTATE the Small Knob one click. A dialog box opens which allows you
to select "Before" or "After" (the
waypoint) with either knob. With the desired value highlighted:
12. PRESS . The
cursor moves to the waypoint identifier.
NOTE: If you are using a
flight plan, the default target waypoint will be the last waypoint in
the flight plan. Any waypoint in the flight plan can be entered by
rotating the small knob and scroll until the desired waypoint in the
flight plan is highlighted and PRESS .
The cursor moves to the VS Profile Field which is set at a default
descent rate of 400'/min. ROTATE Small Knob one click to select first
digit. Continue using the Small and Large Knobs to enter the desired
rate and PRESS .
Now that the profile has been defined, the VSR Field (Vertical Speed
Required) will show the required descent rate at your present
position. Lastly, PRESS and HOLD
to return to the Default NAV page.
